Stalking awareness incident. |
||
Dear Resident,
We have received a crime report on 12/06/2025 whereby a 16-year-old school female has been approached by an unknown black male to and from Coombe Girls School every day and sometimes multiple times a day asking for her number and saying he likes the way she looks. The victim has rejected the male, but he keeps on pestering her and sometimes follows her.
The unknown black male description: Afro hairstyle and occasionally wears glasses, he is looks around early to mid-20s. He is about F507 tall and sometimes on foot or riding a pedal cycle along New Malden, High Street.
The local Safer Neighbourhood Team are taking sets by increasing their patrols in this area, particularly around school opening and closing times. The officer investigating this report will be giving reassurance and support to the victim and family and further updates when offender has been identified.
We would encourage anyone who thinks they are being stalked to report it to us, if they are in immediate danger call 999, otherwise a report can be made online or by calling 101.
Stalking and harassment are serious crimes which can have a devastating effect on the lives of victims and their friends and family. Stalking follows the pattern of FOUR - fixated, obsessed, unwanted and repeated. Any kind of persistent, unwanted contact that causes distress is stalking and is unacceptable.
